ZARF'S UNIVERSAL DIGITAL BRACKET CAMERA ADAPTER FOR MICROSCOPES AND SLIT LAMPS
The ZARF'S UNIVERSAL DIGITAL BRACKET CAMERA ADAPTER FOR MICROSCOPES AND SLIT LAMPS are designed for Digital Cameras (New and Old) that are manufactured without a lens thread or without the the capablity of using a Lens Conversion Adapter. ZARF'S UNIVERSAL DIGITAL BRACKET CAMERA ADAPTER FOR MICROSCOPES AND SLIT LAMPS will attach to your tripod mount hole on the bottom of your digital camera and sit securely onto the adapter plate. The front Lens Adapter Arm allows you to easily adjust it to fit your particular carmera's lens position.

Not all Digital Cameras are suitable for Photomicrography, so it is important that you personally test (see Testing Instructions below) your digital camera with your microscope or slit lamp prior to placing an order. Also, you must do the following measurments of your camera to ensure a proper fit of ZARF'S UNIVERSAL DIGITAL BRACKET CAMERA ADAPTER.

IMPORTANT (READ BEFORE ORDERING)
To ensure a proper fit of ZARF'S UNIVERSAL DIGITAL BRACKET CAMERA ADAPTER, please follow the instructions below:
1. Turn your digital camera on and go to maxium zoom.
2. Depth Measurement: Measure the center of the tripod mount at the bottom of the camera to the very front of the camera lens (some Digital Camera models will have lenses that will extend outside of the camera body and some will not). This measurement must not be any longer than 67.8mm or 2.67 inches.
3. Height Measurement: Next measure the bottom of the camera to the center of the camera's lens (if your digital camera has a lens that extends from the body of the camera when on or at maxium zoom, you can now either turn off the camera or retract your lens by zooming back in to make this measurement easier). This measurement must not be any higher than 57.6mm or 2.26 inches.
4. Lens Diameter Measurement: The front outer diameter of your digital camera lens must not be any larger thatn 40mm or 1.58 inches.

TEST FOR DIGITAL CAMRERAS FOR MICROSCOPES:
1. You will need to place an easy to focus sample with appropriate illumination to view through your microscope.
2. Focus your sample.
3. Turn off the Flash Mode, turn off the Digital Zoom mode and turn off the Power Saving function if your camera has this feature.
4. Place the camera on the Manual Mode, if your camera has this function.
5. Change the focus mode to "Infinity".
6. Set the aperture to 3.0 or more, if your camera has this function.
7. Set the ISO to 100, if your camera has this function.
8. Set the shutter speed to around 1/80, if your camera has this function.
9. Remove the Rubber Eye guards, if any.
10. Position the camera lens so that it is as close as possible to the lens of your microscope eyepiece.
11. Use your optical zoom function to achieve a full field of view on your LCD screen.
12. Fine focusing can be done with the microscope itself.
If you can achieve an image that you are happy with, then the camera should do fine. If the image is in focus but you have vignette (vignette is like looking down a tunnel) try using your optical zoom function if you have not done so already. If using your optical zoom function does not eliminate the vignette then you will have to decide whether this is an acceptable image for your use. Sometimes connecting the camera to your computer screen or monitor makes focusing easier, if your camera is equipped with this function.
